Here is a wild idea that seemingly came out of nowhere. A full day dynamic suspension workshop with @Air !!! It turns out they are in town visiting us so we decided to make a day of it at Oblige.

Two workshop classes:

Morning class- “Human Hardpoint” 10:00-1:00

Afternoon class- “Suspension Without a Plan” 2:00-5:00

Details on both below.

These are both BIG classes. Each presented in an “intensive style” format. While there is A LOT to learn as a solo class auditor these classes are designed for self-tiers and tying Pairs, Tri’s and Quad’s.

Tickets are per person and per class. (Each person will need a ticket for each class)

Who is Air?

They have been a friend to friends of Oblige for years and we are extremely excited to be sharing space with them again. Air is a queer non-binary neurospicy poly switchy shaninstigator of magnitude. They have been involved in the Rope/BDSM community for just shy of a decade. As an avid self-tier, rigger, and rope bottom, they've showcased their creative, precocious, and hilariously sadomasochistic style at both national and international level events. Committed to fostering inclusivity and non-judgment, Air passionately guides individuals on their magical kink journey with skill and contagious enthusiasm.

What are these Advanced Workshop Classes?

(Tickets Below)

Human Hardpoints (10:00-1:00)

When your friends ask you to hang out, do you immediately envision binding them with rope and suspending them from one another? Well, have I got the class for you! This course is crafted for tying pairs, switches, and self-tiers alike! I will go over safety considerations and key points for upline management, specifically related to human hardpointism. Unpaired? No prob! We will facilitate grouping up as needed! Might even make a new friend or three. My team and I will be available throughout participant tying time to provide guidance or to give evil suggestions, if desired! No doubt you’ll learn, explore, play, and laugh a lot!

SKILL LEVEL:

-Intermediate+/advanced (Risk profile should be evaluated prior to attending this class, as concepts explored in this class lean towards the higher risk end of the risk profile spectrum.)

-Auditors welcome

PRE-REQS:

-Tying folx need solid up line management, a suspendible chest and lower body harness, negotiation skills, basic anatomy of nerves and pressure points.

-Those in rope need suspension experience, body awareness, and excellent verbal communication skills while in rope and in suspension.

-Self-tiers need all of the above AND self-suspension experience.

TO BRING:

-Tying participants will need full rope kit, carabiners, cutters, preferred suspension equipment, straps, etc.

Suspension Without a Plan: (2:00-5:00)

(This is the “201” to Tying Without a Plan)

A lack of a plan does not mean a lack of intention. To safely break the rules, one must first learn them. In this class, I will help you become more adaptable and creative as we explore how to leverage our existing skills and knowledge, while trusting ourselves to innovate. One of my favorite aspects of this play is that by not micromanaging and staying present, we discover beautiful (and often hilarious) places we never knew existed.
