201 The Cutting Edge, Body Modification:

Scarification, Cuttings, Removals & Mutilations.

Body modification is not really so strange within a culture where identity is often expressed through appearance—in mainstream society includes fashion consumption, cosmetic surgery, and botox. This is about intentional permanent or semipermanent alterations of the living body for ritual, folk medicine, aesthetics, or corporal punishment. This class we will cover that broad spectrum of why people do it pertaining to the various techniques of such an alteration.

401 The Intrigue of Hook Suspension:

What is hook suspension all about? Discover the personal expansion and energy exchange that can be obtained through suspension. The class overviews how to prepare yourself and what to expect from flying in hooks. Workshop with a demonstration.

Hook Suspensions and Energy Pulls will be offered to attendees during boundless. One on one, pairs or small groups. Please contact The_Carine directly to negotiate times, fees and details.

Athena Kali

Foundations of D/s: Honor and Protocol

Hands-on Workshop / Discussion

The foundation of D/s can be found in our capacity to understand, resonate with, and respect the dark waters that lie within each other and ourselves.  The distinction between D/s and kink lies in our capacity to understand and harness an exchange of power that unlocks the potential and depths of these waters, starting with the foundational building of protocols and guidelines that light our way.  Come learn with Athena Kali and her 24/7 pets Icarus and Astraea as they draw on 10+ years of D/s relationship facilitation and their own journey to bring you closer to the foundation of your own path.

Sounding & Electrical Play

Discussion and Demonstration

Get ready for an electric performance exploring new chasms of possibility with a workshop covering the basics of how to perform urethral sounding and get started using electrical play as part of your play. In this workshop, you'll see a live demonstration of sounding with step-by-step instructions on how to safely set up and execute, and live narration from the receiving person on what it feels like! Next, we'll move on to electrical play (which can be combined with sounding!) examples with demonstrations of insertable and wearable electric items such as using a violet wand, e-stim for orgasms, and more.

Oblige will hold space during the Saturday Dinner break for a “Stay and Play” opportunity. E-stem kits and sounding kits will be available for purchase from one of our venders. Contact obligerope@gmail.com to pre-order

Mestre Dador and PersuasivePeach

Erotic asphyxiation, the good, the bad, and the reality:

You've probably heard the saying " life is not measured by the breaths we take but by the moments that take our breath away".

This class is about those breathless moments. The most common name you hear for this is breath "play" but this class will focus on just how serious this activity is.
This is the edge in edge play, but there are ways to dull that edge and still keep the thrill and feeling of danger. You will learn the mechanics of how it works on a person and you'll get to see many different techniques and ways to keep you on the "safer" side of that edge.

Branding, this ain't an advertising class:

Branding in the advertising world is, the process of creating a distinct identity. Maybe that actually fits into our kinky world as well. We have been marking and decorating our bodies for eons this class will take you into the world where extreme heat or cold paints pictures on flesh.

The class is about marking the human body with semi-permanent to permanent designs. We'll go in depth into cold/freeze branding, micro-branding/cell popping, and touch on violet wand and hot strike branding.

There will be a hands-on period during and after the class if you would like to experience cold branding firsthand. Oblige will hold space during one of the lunch breaks for this “Stay and Play” opportunity.

Carnal_Knowledge

BDSM Games

Think BDSM is super-serious?  Think again.  Join us for some fun and games.  We’re going to bring back some of your favorites—like Operation, Red Rover, Hot Rods, Simon Says—and add a twist.  Come out and play with Steven / Carnal_Knowledge.

Long Whips at Their Least Intimidating

Think Adam Winrich’s YouTube videos constitute whip porn?  If you’ve only played with short whips, you’re missing out.  Come play with the size queen’s toys.  Steven / Carnal_Knowledge will show you how to make a long whip crack.  It won’t be long before you’re able to use them in your play.

Oblige will hold space during one of the lunch breaks for a “Stay and Play” opportunity. House whips will be on hand for attendees to practice and play with.

BondageNexus & RopeSiren

Extreme and Unorthodox Bondage

(A Dozen Ways to Die that Don't Involve Rope)

Enjoy this tour of mummification, long term bondage, inescapable bondage, and unorthodox restraint guided by the freaky people who do it.

This class is a mix of discussion and the opportunity to get your hands on non-ropey bondage (e.g. duct tape, zip ties, shrink wrap, straitjackets, bondage tape, handcuffs) and learn just how edgy bondage can be. Be prepared to be scared by the kinds of restraint that await you after decades of pushing the edge of bondage scenes.

Rope/Shibari Influenced Track

Barkas & Addie

Ranboo 1 & 2 (Two Classes)

Ranboo, literally translated means stormy or overwhelming. This style of tying is a highly dynamic style in which we play a lot with the variation of distance and intensity. A key term is the element of surprise which means that there is no moment in the session in which the person in ropes can foresee what will happen next.

Prerequisites: Single column tie and basic rope handling.

Bring at least 3 ropes and someone to tie with.

Movement in ropes:

The idea that the main goal of tying is to move someone’s heart can be used to try different ways of moving your partner in space during a session. We will introduce the three main ways of moving the person in ropes and work on combining those methods for a fun and exciting time in ropes.

Prerequisites: Single column tie recommended.

Bring at least 1-2 ropes and someone to tie with.

Suspension lines - Safety and efficiency

Suspension lines are more than just what holds the person in ropes up in the air. In order to use them for play, we need to tie them in ways that are safe and efficient. In this class, we will introduce different ways of locking off suspension lines for different purposes and we will discuss risk, safety, and efficiency to make suspensions in general less stress- and more playful.

Prerequisites: Suspension-worthy upper body tie (e.g. TK, chest harness, or similar)

Bring at least 6 ropes. Self-suspension possible.

We reserve the right to keep individual participants on the ground if there are safety concerns.

Oblige will hold space during breaks and throughout the weekend for one-on-one tuition opportunities with Barkas & Addie. Please contact Them directly to negotiate times, fees and details.

Circus Ties

“Single Columns and (Near) Death”

Come for a masterclass in the Somerville bowline laced with stories from circus performances with jute rope - and no net. Your presenters have performed "circus shibari" for years. The ties they use often must support both the rigger and the bottom while they both fly out over the audience.

We'll start with a discussion of the ultimate stunt, hanging 24 feet above the floor in nothing but a loop of jute around the ankle. You'll develop a new respect for the Somerville bowline.

We'll dive into the trade-offs between safety and speed that are made in circus performances for vanilla audiences. We'll touch on training for stunts, and on the process of finding sustainable ties that work for the bottom's body.

Midnight_Shibari

Spicy and Sadistic Rope

Ready for the mean rope that will have your partner making all the lovely sounds? In this class, we’ll be exploring spicy and sadistic rope. The rope that adds another element to the craft! After starting with an introduction on safety and risks involved, we’ll go over how to tie the popular Guatemalan torture tie, a toe/foot tie, and a few ways to add some mean elements to your rope scenes. This is how you get those lovely sounds whilst being intentional and engaged in one of the many ways to practice rope.

Please be mentally prepared for screams/cries throughout, both during demonstration and from other participants as we move through class. Things often heat up quickly!

A tying partner is encouraged, but not necessary. Please feel free to sit in and just listen solo if that’s your comfort. This is a class that will highlight and educate you in the art of adding an edge to the rope we already love.

Level: All levels

Prerequisites: basic rope safety knowledge, single-column tie, half-hitches;

Tools: 1-2 hanks of 7-8m rope; safety shears or similar rope cutting tool

Quick Release Ties

Quick release ties are an essential skill to have at any level of tying. The risk of nerve injury with rope bondage is often present, but there are many ways to reduce the risk considerably. Having quick releases incorporated in your harnesses, or even certain uplines, can save vital amounts of time and stress when a rope bottom is experiencing signs of potential nerve damage, and you need to get them down and out of rope safely and quickly. Quick release ties can also be used at higher levels to add speed and flair for transitions during dynamic suspension when working with multiple secondary uplines.

In this class, we’ll start with basic quick release ties incorporated in single column ties. Then we’ll explore a couple secondary upline quick release ties, including the Lapp knot. Lastly, we’ll explore one other quick release tie that is great for theatrics during scenes and even just for bedroom fun!

Level: All levels

Prerequisites: basic rope safety knowledge, single-column tie;

Tools: 1-2 hanks of 7-8m rope, safety shears or similar rope cutting tool
