Participants will leave these workshops with a better sense of self, a better connection with their partner and a wider perspective of Japanese inspired rope bondage or other BDSM/kink education and skills. Scroll for current class listings.
Learn techniques to perform a variety of rope ties necessary for safe and effective Shibari -OR- the techniques and training for kink play, these class are focused on BDSM education. Understand the physical, aesthetic and psychological aspects of connection through rope and/or kink.
Explore with your partner and other participants with consent.
Apply your skills in our supportive space.
Play You are welcome to stay and enjoy our venue after the class.

Classes offered most Thursday’s (Sometimes Friday’s) 6 – 11 p.m. $25 per person.
For Shibari/Rope classes, Basics and Fundamentals Starts at 6:15pm (BDSM/Kink Workshops start with social hour at 6:00)
Formal Instruction will be 7:00 – 8:45/9:00 p.m.
9-11 p.m. will be open time to apply, hone your skills plus you can stay and play

January Is All Beginner Rope Classes
January 22nd: Rope/Shibari Workshop - “Tying with intention”-With Nick & Veda
Week 4 of a 4 Week Intro to Erotic Rope Bondage and Shibari. (Weeks 1 -3 not required)

In this Shibari Basics class, @ChiefDaddyJokes and will delve beyond mere knots and ties. Shibari is an art form that creates a space of vulnerability, intimacy, and deep connection between partners. Whether you're a beginner or have some experience, this class will empower you to explore the emotional and physical aspects of Shibari.
It can get cold during class so bring a blanket!!!
-You’ll need rope. 2-3 full ropes (24-30’). If you don’t have rope, we sell and rent it.
-This class is designed as a partnered class, though there is always value in being in the room, learning from watching others, and making new friends to enjoy rope with.
All levels of skill sets are welcomed to attend for a verity of reasons. If you are new to rope bondage or do not have a working understanding of the basics and fundamental you are strongly encouraged you attend the pre-class portion of the workshop at 6:00PM.

Nick He/Him (ChiefDaddyJokes) brings a unique blend of intensity and intimacy, weaving connection, emotional awareness, and presence into his Dominant style. When there are five Thursdays in a month, we skip class, order in a bunch of pizza and through a good old fashion play party

Looks like there’s an extra Thursday in January, so why not celebrate with a bit of kinky fun?
No class this week. No formal performances. Instead, we’re bringing in some pizza, dragging all the furniture out, and having a good old-fashioned play party. Play as you wish within the rules until midnight, this week.
Come as you are or dress as kinky as you like.

Febuary 5th: Rope/Shibari Workshop - “Rope Safety 2.0: Body Awareness + First Aid for Nerve Injuries” with Midnight Shibari
This is an “In-person Only” class. There will be no livestream or recording.

Rope Safety 2.0: Body Awareness + First Aid for Nerve Injuries
Level: All
Prerequisites/Tools: basic rope safety knowledge
In this class, I’ll give detail into the nerves commonly at risk throughout the body as well as visual demonstration. You’ll have the opportunity to take what we go over and search for areas of risk on your own body as everyone’s anatomy is a little different with varying nerve sensitivities. We’ll then go over different safety checks that can be used and which nerves they test for, so you can better identify where the issue is and can adjust the rope quicker. The last part of class will focus on what happens if a suspected nerve injury occurs and what current medical literature suggests is beneficial.

JJ (he/him)
A medical professional and long-standing member of the Michigan kink community with over a decade of experience. Based in the Detroit area, he has served as both an educator and performer of Shibari, presenting at events such as Boundless 2024 at Oblige and the Summer Michigan Rope Conference (SMIRC).
Combining his medical expertise with his passion for rope, Midnight emphasizes safety, informed consent, and body awareness in every class. His teaching often explores both the intensity and artistry of sadistic and torture-style ties, as well as more technical forms and suspension sequences. He acknowledges that rope and BDSM always carry some risk—but through mindful, safety-focused techniques, he helps participants explore their limits with confidence, care, and plenty of room for laughter and connection.

“I am a sadist; I enjoy hurting people, watching them suffer, and knowing they’re in pain. Really think about that…how does that make you feel?"
In this class, we’re going to sit with and explore the idea of sadism. We’ll talk about what it is and different ways it can show up. We’ll also discuss where it comes from and whether you can learn to be sadistic if you’re not already. Most challenging, though, we’re going to think about the ethics of sadism, how we can justify it, and where we draw the line.
(I‘ll do my best not to make the class painfully boring.)

Xeno, He/They (@_MrNobody) is your friendly neighborhood sadist. His favorite kinks include rope, knives, rough body play, and raw vulnerability – generally, with a heavy emphasis on pain. As a presenter, he values inclusivity and adaptability, and strives to make his classes work for the attendees, rather than the other way around. He has enjoyed planning, hosting, and presenting at various events since 2016, and is currently active with the Board of Education and a co-chair of the Board of Education TNG Committee. As a strong advocate of direct communication and critical thinking about risk profiles, he strives to promote responsible play at all intensity levels.

Flynn Racer is a seasoned kink educator with over fifteen years of shibari experience, beginning his journey through the lens of artistic photography. As the co-owner and co-operator of Oblige Rope Boutique, he blends creative expression with technical precision, offering students a thoughtful, intentional approach to rope and connection.
Beyond rope, Flynn is deeply passionate about pipe and mechanical bondage, a love directly inspired by his career in structural engineering. His engineering background fuels his fascination with innovative restraint design, shaping the uniquely hands-on, problem-solving nature of his classes. A dominant, a daddy, and an ever-curious kinkster, he has taught a wide array of shibari, bondage, and BDSM classes across the community. Whether instructing newcomers or seasoned practitioners, Flynn brings a genuine desire to keep learning and to help others grow alongside him.
