If you do a google image search for ‘shibari’, you’ll find 90% of the pictures are of small flexible femme presenting people in stress positions in rope. You’ll see most of the riggers (if pictured) are masc, and easily manipulating their rope receivers. Just like other representations on social media, many people that enjoy rope do not fall into these categories.

This class is about some of the tips and tricks I’ve learned, as a smaller rigger, working with rope receivers of all shapes and sizes, with different levels of flexibility, and constraints. Can a 150 lb rigger suspend a 300+ lb rope receiver with transitions? Absolutely! Do we need to honor our constraints, do a little extra labbing, and think outside of the normal environment? Also true.

Our Figure Drawing & Rope Jam Sunday -All are welcome, and any type of BDSM or kinky play is encouraged.

With the recent addition of "The Dungeon" at Oblige, attendees can now use the other half of the space to tie, play, socialize or relax durning the figure drawing.

This month there will be a figure-drawing opportunity at the Rope Jam. From 12:30-2:30, we will have models in rope for a few coordinated drawing sessions.
Three sessions will range from 20-30 minutes across different poses and different models. Oblige will have some materials on hand, but attendees should plan to bring their own sketching materials or tablets for digital sketches.

In general, this is meant to be an open, unstructured time for you to come in, grab a coffee or tea, relax, tie, skill share, and play. There’s no requirement to partake in the figure-drawing portion of the day. If this is not your thing, you are welcome to simply use the space however you wish during this time.

Our Open Play & Sunday Rope Jam -All are welcome, and any type of BDSM or kinky play is encouraged.

This advanced class focuses on Maete Shibari techniques and suspension. While prior suspension experience is ideal, students must be comfortable tying a Takate Kote (TK) to participate.

• 10 ropes, each 7-8.5 meters in length

Be prepared with the necessary ropes and gear to fully participate in this hands-on, high-level class.

This class will review materials, prep, cleaning, safety, and appropriate disposal. Additionally @Rhapsody_In_Blue & @Banana_Rampage will dig into the nuances that can be explored in sharps play. There will be a discussion on scene planning, intensity modulation, and maintaining connection with your scene partner during play. While this class will review some of the things covered in basic needle play they will also be going deeper into ways to use sharps with other kinds of play and negotiating higher intensity/riskier scenes.
